About RBI RETAIL DIRECT
Purchase GOVT bonds directly

Govt of India has launched the long-awaited portal called *RBI Retail Direct* which allows investors to buy and sell various kinds of G-Sec govt bonds online with a 5-40 years tenure.

1. RBI Bonds
2. Central Govt Bonds
3. State Govt Bonds
4. Sovereign Gold Bonds
5. Treasury Bills

These bonds can be bought without any intermediary and without any Demat account.

All you need to do is open a Retail Direct Gilt (RDG) account using the website

https://rbiretaildirect.in/#/rdg-account registration

The following documents are required to open an RDG account...

Rupee savings bank account maintained in India;
PAN issued by the Income Tax Department;
Any officially valid document such as Aadhaar, Voter ID for KYC purposes;
Valid email ID; and
Registered mobile number

As this platform is quite new, it definitely requires some time to evolve..... Selling of these bonds in secondary market may be little cumbersome for small investors. Also There might be some bugs in the platform today, so we need be a little patient.

Anyways,  according to me,  This platform adds a new platform for retail investors to invest in debt markets at better interest rates....

Happy Investing 🙂
